The Analytical Challenge 2025

Fast Analytical Screening Techniques

The Analytical Chemistry Section of the KNCV and the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences (HvA) cordially invite you to The Analytical Challenge 2025. Once again this year, we will come together for a series of lectures and discussions on a contemporary topic in analytical chemistry. This year’s theme is “Fast Analytical Screening Techniques.” In a world that is becoming increasingly fast-paced and complex, rapid and efficient analytical methods are of growing importance in many research fields to obtain usable results within a short timeframe.

We have found a number of interesting speakers willing to discuss how they use various analytical techniques for rapid screening in their respective research fields. This ranges from methods for the rapid detection of psychoactive substances in street samples to the use of smell panels for beer products, and from determining the suitability of individuals for participation in clinical trials and analyzing fingerprints in forensic investigations to innovations in food safety regulation.

The meeting will take place on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences (HvA), 51 Tafelbergweg in Amsterdam (Nicolaes Tulphuis (NTH) and Tania Leonhuis (TLH) | Health Campus - HvA). You can reach the venue by public transportation via Amsterdam Holendrecht station (600 meters away); free parking is available at the AMC parking lot on Tafelbergweg (see map below). Participation (including coffee/tea, lunch, and drinks) is free.
