Call for Nominations: NextGenChem Award

In the Dutch chemical and chemical engineering landscape, we are fortunate to have a vibrant community of early-career group leaders who are not only pushing the boundaries of fundamental science but also shaping the future of our chemical community. In the spirit of the NextGenChem’s mission to empower and connect the next generation of researchers, we are proud to announce the call for nominations for our inaugural NextGenChem Award (NGC Award). 

This award recognizes an outstanding early-career group leader who demonstrates scientific excellence and leadership with a lasting impact on the chemical community. We value researchers who go beyond the lab, contributing through mentoring, teaching, outreach, or organizational leadership.

Eligibility and Criteria

We invite nominations for those who meet the following requirements:

• Early-career group leaders: Up to 5 years since their first appointment in academia, industry, or other chemical organizations. (Parental leave extensions: Birth mothers receive an 18-month extension per child; other parents receive 6 months per child.)
• Active in the Netherlands: Currently conducting research at a Dutch university, research center, Hogeschools, or company in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering.
• Excellence and leadership: Demonstrated high-quality research, strong leadership, and a clear vision for scientific innovation.
